Brantley Gilbert is getting ready to hit the road. He's about to leave for his "JUST AS I AM: From Athens to Arlington" motorcycle ride to celebrate the release of his new album Just As I Am.
The country star and a few fellow riders will cruise from Athens, Georgia to Arlington Virginia, trailed by tour buses which will be covered by names of fallen soldiers. The tribute to the military is in conjunction with the Folds of Honor Foundation which supports families of soldiers who died in battle.
Along the way, Brantley will be making stops in Atlanta, Augusta, and the Indy 500, before he reaches his final destination at Arlington National Cemetery for a special ceremony.
Brantley says of the ride, "If I had to sum freedom up in the world for me, yeah, that’s definitely freedom – just the wind and the motor, and that’s honestly one of the reasons we’re riding in this thing is I wanted the people – and these guys I’m riding with, two of them really taught me how to ride (laughs) and taught me the hard way – I mean, I want to spend some time with them also but it’s gonna keep me sane. That’s gonna be my sanity."
The ride kicks off Wednesday May 21st. Click here for the latest updates on Brantley's "JUST AS I AM: From Athens to Arlington" ride.
