J. Lo & Alex Rodriguez Skipped The Golden Globes For Puerto Rico Relief

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez could have been part of Sunday night's (January 7) Golden Globe Awards, but the power couple decided to spend their time focusing on Puerto Rico relief.

In an interview with Good Morning America, the pop titan admitted that she could have been at the annual Hollywood affair, but opted to continue her efforts in the post-Hurricane Maria landscape. "I could have been [at the Golden Globes], but I wanted to be here," she said, before admitting that she participated in the #MeToo movement from afar. "I chose to be here. I was, like, 'Okay. I'm here. I want you guys to know I'm dressed in black, too, even though I'm far away in Puerto Rico."

For their first trip since being back to Puerto Rico since the devastating hurricane, Lopez and Rodriguez visited with locals and made their plea for the basic needs. "We just want to be treated equally. We're Americans," Lopez said. "We're here to kind of shine a light and let everybody know, like [Rodriguez] said, 'We're in our first inning. We have a long way to go.'" Scroll on below to see more from their trip.
