It’s safe to say that Harry Styles has never been hit in the groin by a dodgeball thrown by former First Lady Michelle Obama. Nonetheless, there’s a first for everything and the 25-year-old pop star's incident was caught on-camera for everyone to see.
On the Monday episode (June 17) of James Corden’s Late Late Show, the comedian gathered a batch of stars to partake in an epic game of dodgeball to decide whether America or Great Britain truly prevailed in the sports department. Former First Lady's Team USA included Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Allison Janney, Lena Waithe and Kate Hudson. Meanwhile, Corden led their British opponents, featuring Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley and Late Late Show bandleader Reggie Watts.
Before the game began, Kunis revealed that her decision to participate in festivity had everything thing to do with the former First Lady and less about the actual debate at hand. “When Michelle Obama calls and asks you to do anything, you just say yes," she told the camera. As for Styles, let’s just say that when Corden called him, he had options. “When James Corden calls you, you initially ignore the call, and then he keeps calling you, and he starts texting saying 'hey did you get my call?' and then he shows up at your house, your work, your hairdresser, your Pilates class and your shower,” he joked.
During the first round of the three-run showdown, Team USA went down hard until only Styles was left repping for America. Unfortunately for him, the pop star was also knocked out of the game when Michelle lunged a dodgeball at him, hitting his groin and elimination him from the competition.
