This small town Georgia girl from Monticello is shining bright today. It is Trisha Yearwood Day! Not only has she released her new single “Every Girl in This Town” but she is the CMA Fest’s Artist of the Day today in Nashville! She has come a long was since her high school days of wanting to become an accountant. After a stint at University of Georgia, she moved to Nashville to become an intern at a record company. She began recording demos and met another up and coming singer named Garth Brooks (more on this guy later!) who promised if his career succeeded he would help her get a record deal. After he signed his deal, He introduced to his producer and got the ball rolling.
She has now sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and has won three Grammy Awards, four CMA Awards, two ACM Awards, an American Music Award, and a Pollstar Industry Award for touring.
Her second passion is cooking. Sharing her great southern recipes she has learned and gathered from family and friends, she has released three successful cookbooks, which made her a her two-time New York Times best-selling author.
Trisha’s Southern Kitchen is her Emmy award winning cooking show on The Food Network and you can catch her on her Facebook Live “pre-show,”T’s Coffee Talk. Plus, she has designed cookware, furniture, home accessories, and area rugs. Finally, Trisha has also collaborated with Williams Sonoma on her signature best-selling cocktail mixes like “Summer in a Cup,” “Autumn in a Cup,” and “Christmas in a Cup” as well as a variety of food products ranging from a signature biscuit mix to a complete Thanksgiving Dinner.
