Jana Kramer Shares How She Reacted To An Unexpected Text From Her Ex

Jana Kramer shared how she reacted when “someone from my past” recently texted her.

The country artist, actress, author and podcast host caught up with Kathryn Woodard and Kristen Brust on Whine Down with Jana Kramer, and contemplated how to tell the story “without blowing anyone’s life up.” Kramer, who married Scottish former soccer star Allan Russell last year, said she received a text from her ex that didn’t sit right with her.

“Someone from my past had texted me, ‘with the dudes again this weekend, at a golf — we’re doing like a golf weekend. ...Can I call and say hi?’” Kramer shared on her podcast without revealing the man's name. “I’m like, ‘do you think your wife would want you texting me and saying, you know, ‘can I call you around the dudes?’’ Because it’s more like — we’re not friends. We don’t talk. We never talk. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve — I don’t talk to you. I have not spoken to you since I’ve gotten married to Allan, I’ll tell you that.

“It makes me feel like I’m being used in a way,” she shared, and added later, “I feel like, ‘oh, because you guys are all away from your wives and you wanna be like, hey Jana FaceTime with me?’ …Before, I’d be like ‘hey guys! How’s everything going?’ And I’m like, I don’t want it. I don’t wanna answer your call. So, I blocked him.

“I don’t know why. It just bothered me because I’m like, you don’t get to text me anymore. …Every single one of you dudes that wanna FaceTime me from that, you guys are all married,” Kramer said. “We can be friendly…but don’t FaceTime me. For what? It just felt dirty and gross. I didn’t like it. ...I’m not your OnlyFans freakin’ contact. That’s what it felt like to me, almost.”

Kramer shared a clip of the conversation on Instagram, and the trio continue to talk about past relationships and whether they’d communicate with their partners about past relationships. The podcast also included talks about feeling “‘performance depression’ after a big project, which leads the ladies to find a way to love the quiet “in-between,’” dealing with strict teachers now that kids are back in school, and more.
